How Old Is Too Old To Workout?

How Old Is Too Old To Workout?

Have you ever heard someone tell you that they are too old to workout?  Maybe its your Dad, Mom, Brother, Sister or extended family.  Wake up and smell the coffee, you are never too old to workout.  My Grandma who is in her 80’s has lost some extra pounds.

My Mom tells me multiple times that she can’t get back to the way she looked when she was younger.  She has been on Weight Watchers for multiple years.  She has lost quite a bit of weight, however she could tone up more if she excercise.  In one of my karate classes there is this older lady who is a high brown belt  She is in her late or early 50’s and she stays in shape and works out.

In my opinion the people who said they are too old to workout have given into age.  Age is just a number.  If you choose to tell yourself that you are too old to workout then your mind will believe it.  As long as you can walk, stretch and lift lite weights.  You can always workout.

Sure you might not be a body builder if you are older or have super huge muscles like you had once, when you were younger.  Don’t just call it quits and give up on being healthy.  Keep being active until the day that you die.

Next time someone who you may or may not know that tells you that they are too old to workout.  Tell them that there is no such thing as too old.  As long as you can walk, stretch and maybe use lite weights, you can work out.  However, if the person is stuck in bed for the rest of their life then that is a different story.

So keep on working out!  Because who wouldn’t want to stay active in their late 80’s into their 100’s?  Working out can keep us alive longer and a healthy diet helps too.  So don’t make excuses that you are too old!!
